Our approach

Our distinctive investment approach places us at the intersection of fundamental and quantitative methods of investment research and portfolio construction.

This multidisciplinary process allows us to gain new insights that lead to superior investment performance.

The Longwave difference

For many years, investors have separated fundamental and quantitative research. At Longwave, we seek to harness the benefits of both approaches.

Through synergies which emerge from combining these disciplines, we uncover deeper insights. This benefits our investors through a high-quality investment portfolio delivering superior long term investment returns.

Our track record demonstrates how our approach delivers real outperformance to investors.

Fundamental expertise

We believe deep fundamental understanding determines how value is created and destroyed by companies for shareholders.

Detailed fundamental analysis conducted by experienced analysts allows us to identify quality companies likely to grow long term shareholder value. Technology allows us to accelerate the process of bringing fundamental insights to a broader universe of investment opportunities.

Cutting-edge information technology

Our industry has chosen to see the transformative power of software as a threat to the value of human insight in solving complex investing problems. But we don’t believe digital technology and human intellect are incompatible – instead we use proprietary technology to accelerate process and reduce the man hours required to perform routine data and information tasks.

Quantitative methods provide discipline, repeatability and controls behavioural biases.

Our Team

Our investment team retains majority ownership of Longwave Capital, a sign of confidence and belief in our investment approach. All employees also maintain meaningful personal investment in our funds alongside our clients.

Through an affiliation with Pinnacle Investment Management, we receive support in non-investment functions, allowing our team’s core focus to remain on delivering superior, long term returns for investors.
